Temperance Tutor 
Temperance was born on August 6th, 1824.1 Temperance's father was John Henry Tutor and her mother was Martha Patsy Betts. Her paternal grandparents were William Owen Tutor and Lucinda Senter; her maternal grandparents are William Betts and Lucy Savage. She had six brothers and two sisters, named John Owen, Allen Henderson, James Hendon, Henwell L., Hartwell Betts, William Henry, Mary Ann and Martha Ann. She died at the age of 74 on May 17th, 1899 in Pontotoc Co., Mississippi.1 General Notes
