Newton Lewis was born on March 14th, 1914 in Gonzales Co., Texas.1 Newton Lewis' father was James Thomas Tumlinson and his mother was Alma Elizabeth Alsobrook. His paternal grandparents were James Stephen Tumlinson and Elizabeth Wright; his maternal grandparents are Joseph Duran Alsobrook and Georgia Ann Malone. He had ten brothers and two sisters, named James Harvie, Allie Joseph, William Franklin, Tommy Berman, Teddy Rode, Eddie Rode, David D. Henry, Living, Living, Living, Patricia Ann and Rachel Angeline. He died at the age of 81 on January 12th, 1996 in Gonzales Co., Texas.1 General Notes
