Henry Clay Thomas 
Henry Clay was born on October 9th, 1821 in Grayson Co., Virginia.1 Henry Clay's father was Joseph Burgess Thomas and his mother was Rebecca Skaggs. His maternal grandparents were Henry Skaggs and Nancy Davis. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Isaac Thomas, James W., John Hardin, Nancy Jane and Mary Ann. He was the oldest of the six children. He had a half-brother named Gideon Gilbert. He died at the age of 53 on February 28th, 1875 in Spencer Co., Indiana.1 General Notes
