Alfred Sikes was born in 1832 in Hart Co., Kentucky.1 Alfred Sikes' father was Stephen Pepper Skaggs and his mother was Elizabeth Elkin. His paternal grandparents are Henry Skaggs and Sarah Pepper. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Thomas Jefferson, James V., Alexander Green, William Henry, Caroline, Mary Jane, Bird Hendrick, Sarah P., Elizabeth and Virginia. He was the oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 30 on January 29th, 1862 in Elizabethtown, Jefferson Co., Kentucky.1 General Notes
