Oriah Ritchie

Oriah was born on April 15th, 1821 in Perry Co., Kentucky.¹ Oriah's father was Alexander Crockett Ritchie and his mother was Elizabeth Susan Grigsby. His maternal grandfather was Benjamin Grigsby and his maternal grandmother is Elizabeth Duncan. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Thomas Grigsby, James Monroe, John, Hiram, Nicholas, Gabriel, Alexander Crockett, Naoma, Elizabeth, Mary and Nancy. He is the fourth youngest of the twelve children.
