John E was born in 1855.1 John E's father was William H Maxey and his mother was Sarah Magdeline Sublett. His paternal grandparents were Edward Maxey and Judy White. He had three brothers and five sisters, named George M, Samuel, Chambers W, Susan, Sarah M, Judith A, Nancy E and Harriet E. He was the second youngest of the nine children.1 -
