Her maternal grandparents were Nelson Reed Graham and Susan Louisa Landers. She had six half-brothers and three half-sisters, named William Perry, James Franklin, Martin Alonzo, Jr., Silas, Edward P., Elias, Elizabeth Jane, Margaret and Mattie.
