Leanna was born in 1822 in Perry Co., Kentucky.1 Leanna's father is Benjamin Grigsby and her mother is Winnona Sizemore. Her paternal grandfather was Benjamin Grigsby and her paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Duncan. She had seven brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, John, Edward, Balis, David, Gabriel, Benjamin, Mary and Nancy. She was the oldest of the ten children.
