William Henry was born in 1860 in Georgia.1 William Henry's father was John Jefferson,Dr. Gregory and his mother was Laura Lucas. His paternal grandparents are Hardy Battle,Jr. Gregory and Irene Elizabeth Hudson; his maternal grandparents are Edwin Lucas and Caroline Booking. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Benjamin Thomas, Charles Hardy, John Jefferson,Jr., Robert Lee, Fannie Mariah and Hattie.
