Melia was born on September 20th, 1826 in Green Co., Kentucky.1 Melia's father was Hampton Graham and her mother is Maria Mariah. Her paternal grandfather was William R.,3rd Graham and her paternal grandmother is Nancy Elizabeth Lynn. She had three brothers and three sisters, named William, Bedford, John Henry, Catherine, Jane and Matilda Ann. She was the fourth oldest of the seven children. She died at the age of 29 on October 25th, 1855 in Colchester, McDonough Co., Illinois. She was buried in Argyle Cemetery, Colchester, McDonough Co., Illinois.1 1 General Notes
