Gerhard Friedrich was born on March 26th, 1840 in Evinghausen, Germany.1 Gerhard Friedrich's father was Johann Friedrich Ellermann and his mother was Anne Marie Wilhelmine Buker. His paternal grandparents were Gerhard Herbord Ellermann and Marie Elisabeth Tormollen. He had a brother and two sisters, named Hermann Heinrich, Anne Marie Luise and Anne Marie Elisabeth. He was the second youngest of the four children. He had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Hermann Heinrich, Gerhard Friedrich, Gerhard Friedrich, Anne Marie Engel, Anne Marie Elisabeth and Anne Marie Engel.1 -
