Joseph Deming 
Joseph was born on January 24th, 1708 in Wethersfield, Middlesex Co., Conn.1 Joseph's father was Ebenezer, Jr. Deming and his mother was Rebecca Treat. His paternal grandfather was Ebenezer Deming and his paternal grandmother is Sarah Unknown; his maternal grandparents are James, Lt. Treat and Rebecca Latimer. He had four brothers and a sister, named Oliver, Ebenezer III, Tinothy, Moses and Elizabeth. He was the second oldest of the six children. He died about 1783 in Williamstown, Berkshire Co., Mass.1 General Notes

Joseph Deming was a farmer of Wethersfield until 1769, when he boug
ht la nd in Berkshire Co., Mass., and soon afterwards removed to the new s
ettlem ent of Williamstown, together with his sons, Aaron and Titu
s. It is probab le that his wife survived him, as she is mentioned in h
is will of 9 Apr 17 82. The father and his sons were diligent and thrift
y, and acquired land f rom time to time, which was retained by their desce
ndants for three genera tions. The old house, built by the father soon aft
er he came to Williamsto wn, was standing until 1876, when it was destroy
ed by fire. At a point whe re the farm adjoins Hancock brook there was a s
mall mill privilege, whi ch was utilized by the family for manufacturing p

Francis was born on January 12th, 1739 in Wethersfield, Middlesex Co., Conn.1 He died at the age of 80 on December 19th, 1819 in Newington, Middlesex Co., Conn.1
