John August, Sr. Burgdorf

John August, Sr. was born on January 12th, 1894 in Texas.¹   John August, Sr.'s father was William Emil Burgdorf and his mother was Dorothy Elizabeth Hamff.  His maternal grandparents were August F. Hamff and Anna Elizabeth Dunk. He had eight brothers named Henry, Lizzie, Ella, Edwin, Louise, Dora, Pearl and Emil, Jr..  He was the third oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 57 on July 30th, 1951 in Giddings, Lee Co., Texas.¹ 

‌John August, Sr. and Viola Grace were married in a religious ceremony on December 28th, 1921 in Paige, Bastrop Co., Texas.¹   They had a daughter named Living.
