Dessis Laverne Basham

Dessis Laverne was born on September 4th, 1916 in Obion Co., Tennessee.¹   Dessis Laverne's father was Herman Basham and her mother was Ora Lee Nettles.  Her paternal grandparents were Larkin Wesley Basham and Martha Brown. She had five brothers and a sister, named George B., Herman Cleo (Red), Edward Watson, Tyron (Twin), Byron (Twin) and Floyie.  She was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 81 on October 6th, 1997 in Maryland Heights, Missouri.¹ 

‌Dessis Laverne and Marshall were married in a religious ceremony on December 24th, 1931 in Fulton Co., Kentucky.¹   They had two sons and three daughters, named Living, Living, Living, Living and Mary.
