Alton (Al) was born on October 21st, 1915 in Brimfield, Portage Co., Ohio.1 Alton (Al)'s father was Hamilton Hampton Basham and his mother was Ann Elizabeth Gray. His paternal grandparents were Ellis L. Basham and Caroline D. Graham. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Kirk J., Ernest, Joseph Floyd, Maurice, Kenneth T., Alice B., Effie and Lucille Ann. He was the youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 77 on June 5th, 1993 in Akron, Summit Co., Ohio.1 General Notes
