1   Abel's father was Arcade (Alcide) Rabalais and his mother was Amanda Gremillion.  His paternal grandparents were Evariste Rabalais and Elizie Plauche. He had four brothers and a sister, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Arthur, Leo, Oliver, Vincent, Louise and Abbie.1
