Jean Baptiste was born on June 25th, 1683 in Pointe Aux Trembles, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.1 Jean Baptiste's father was ADRIEN Quevillon and his mother was JEANNE Suzanne \Hunault\ dit Deschamps. His paternal grandparents were NICHOLAS QUEVILLON and MARIE VAUQUELIN; his maternal grandparents were TOUSSAINT Hunault and Marie Lorgueil. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Louis Augustin, Pierre, FRANCOIS, Marie Marguerite, Francoise Angelique, Marguerite and Catherine. He had a half-brother named Louis Augustin. "He seems to have been active in the civic and religious affairs of his community, he being frequently listed in the records of "l'eglise St Joseph de la Riviere des Prairies" and in "la Palais de Justice". These records indicate numerous acts of religous and business transactions, a few of these being: On 17 June 1722, he bought two church pews which he donated to St Joseph's Church, the pastor then being Pere Francoois Julien. He received, by donation, a parcel of land measuring six by twenty arpents located at "La Mascauche" on the River St Marie, from Jeand Baptiste Carier and his wife, Marie Madeline, on 4 March 1749. Again, on 5 June 1753, he received another donation, the same as the first one. Besides these there are many other contractual, sales and purchases of land and movable properties recorded."
