Taken from David Eaton's Bible brought to America from Ireland:
"Monday the first day of May 1802, David Eaton and his family left out of the County Fermanaugh, Parish of Kilskeny, bound for America.
Landed in Philadelphia July first, 1802; made out to Sherman's Valley, Cumberland County, State of Pennsylvannia; remained there until the month of September, 1806; started from there to the State of Virginia, Walkers Creek, Giles County, by all in the good thanks to the giver of the mercies."
David and his family left County Fermanaugh, Ulster, Ireland May 1 ,1802 and Landed in Philadelphia and went to Sherman Valley. Left in April 1806 for Giles Co., Virgina. They settled on little Sugar near Walkers Creek. They had 14 children, 2 who died as infants.
David was a Mason-initiated into the fraternity in Ireland then transfered to Giles Lodge 106 at Pearisburg. At the time of his death he had been a Mason longer than anyone in America(71years). This info came from Giles Co.,History Book- Valparaiso Library.
