Marguerite was born in 1717.1 Marguerite's father was Jean Dit LaViolette Colon and her mother was Marguerite Preau. Her maternal grandparents were Jean Preau and Anne Perotte. She had a sister named Marianne Perrine. She was the older of the two children.1
