Jean Barbeau 
Jean was born in 1666 in Pons, diocese of Xaintes, France.1 Jean's father was Pierre Barbeau and his mother was Marie Babin. He was an only child. He died at the age of 48 in 1714.1 General Notes

First of his line to arrive in the New World. He came to Canada as a soldier in the regiment of Major St Cirque. St Cirque had come to Canada in 1685 with Denonville, the new Governor, and had with him 500 reinforcements with whom to battle the Iroquis. He married and settled in Boucherville until 1712, shortly before his death, when he moved to Montreal.
Jean and Marie were married in a religious ceremony in 1686 in Boucherville, Canada.1 They had two sons named Joseph Barbeau and Jean Baptiste.
