Maud was born about 1041 in Montgomery, Normandy, France. Maud's father was Roger De Montgomery and her mother was Mabel De Talvas D'Alencon. Her paternal grandparents were Roger De Montgomery and Emma Nmn Roger Montgomery; her maternal grandparents were William II Talvas D'Alencon and Hildeburge De Beaumont. She had three brothers and a sister, named Hugues, Arnulph, Robert and Sybil. She was the oldest of the five children. She died in 1107. She was buried in Grestain Abbey.-
