Andrew DUPLAIN, 82, retired shoeworker

      Andrew A. DUPLAIN, 82, of the Boneyfiddle area of Portsmouth, died Sunday, June 23, 1996 at home.
      Born July 27, 1913, in Scioto County, a son of the late Francis and Frances DELHOTEL DUPLAIN, he was retired from the former Williams Mfg. Company, a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus.
      Surviving are his wife, Alma PETRY DUPLAIN, whom he married Sept. 1, 1943;  three daughters, Mrs. William (Barbara) VASSAR and Mrs. Thomas (Margaret) JULY, both of Portsmouth, and Mrs. Charles (Mary Ann) WAKEFIELD of Wheelersburg;  a brother, Louis DUPLAIN of Cincinnati;  two sisters, Rosemary MAYO of Winter Haven, Fla., and Rosalie BUCKLE of Columbus;  eight grandchildren;  and a great-grandchild.
      He also was preceded in death by a brother, Frank J., DUPLAIN Jr.
      Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Portsmouth, with the Rev. Thomas PETRY and the Rev. David YOUNG officiating, and interment in Greenlawn Cemetery.
       Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and for an hour before the services Wednesday at melcher Funeral Home in Portsmouth, where recitation of rosary will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
