George Whalle patented 500 acs. on S. Side of the Petomeckriv., at the mouth of Matchotique Riv., &c., 18 May, 1655, for the transportation of 10 persons into the Collony [Lancaster County, VA] On 29 Nov, 1658, Mr. George Wale pattents 300 acs. near the Glade above Wiccocommoccoe Indian Towne,adjoining S. Side of land of John Cossens and Thomas Towne, and parallel to tract assigned sd Wale by Gervas Dodson for transportation of six persons.
In all probability George Wale settled first in Maryland, Viz: "An Inventory of theestate of Mr. George Wale, dec'd in the province of Maryland being this day exhibited to this Court by William Edmonds who married the relict and Admx of thesd Geo. Wale and it appearing that the same was in the province of Maryland sold in Tobaccoe by the Sd Wm. Edmonds and Mr. Thomas Haynie, Guardian to georgeWale, eldest son of the sd George Wale, dec'd.
George is said to have descended from Sir Thomas Wale, who was made a Knight of the Order of the Garter in the first creation by Edward III, 1340. He married Lewys _____, who after his death married William Edmonds. She died 1688.

Grant of Francys Morryson, Esq., To Mr. George Wale, 1400 acres counded as followeth,vizt. 600 acres xx on the S. side of a creek issuing out of Fleets Bay called Corotoman Creek, being the next creek northerly to Haddaways Creek, bounding SEup[on a tract of alnd formerly surveyed for Toby Horton, by some called Mr. Weaaatherby's land, NE upon the said creek fromthe said land to the head of the main branch therof, SW upon the land of John Taylor, dead., NW upon the main woods. And 300 acres other part thereof situate near the glade above Wicc- - - - Indian Town, joining to the south side of the land of John Cosens and Thomas Steede x x x to another belonging to the said Wale by assignment from George Dodsonx x x bounding upon the land of Gervase Dodson, further bounding upon land formerly granted to Gervase Dodson, by patent dated 3rd March 1656, and 500 acresother, likewise formerly granted to said Dodson by papent dated 29th Nov 1658 and by said Dodson assigned to said Wale.
