Charles "C" WITT 
Charles "C" was born in 1712 in Manakin, Albemarle, Va. Charles "C"'s father was William (Guilliame) WITT and his mother was Elizabeth Mildred DAUX. His paternal grandfather was John WHITT and his paternal grandmother is Ann DAUX. He had six brothers and two sisters, named John, Benjamin, Abner, Lewis, David, William, Sarah and Agnes. He was the third oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 79 on January 30th, 1791 in Probably, Halifax Co., Va, In The Army. He was buried in 1782 in Halifax Co., Va.General Notes

The record states that Capt. Charles Witt fitted out the Halifax County Militia of Virginia in 1758, furnishing supplies for which he was paid 12 pounds and 18 shillings. He later served with George Washington. The records of the Virginia Historical Society also show that Charles Witt was a member of the 2nd. Virginia Regiment, his service being terminated by his death in 1781.
