Jacob VAN METER (VAN METRE) 
Jacob was born on March 17th, 1723 in Salem, Somerset, Nj. Jacob's father was Jan Jansen VAN METEREN and his mother was Margaret (Miller) MOLLENAUER. His paternal grandparents were Joost Jansen VAN METEREN and Sarah DU BOIS; his maternal grandfather was Art MOLLENBAUR. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Isaac, Henry, Abraham, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Rachel and Magdalena. He was the second youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 75 on November 16th, 1798 in Elizabethtown, Hardin Co, Kentucky. He was buried in Elizabethtown, Hardin Co., Ky.General Notes
