Miles was born in 1614 in , Plymouth, Devon, England and his baptism took place in 1614 in St. Andrew, Plymouth, Devon, England.1   Miles' father was David Thompson and his mother was Amyes Colle.  His paternal grandfather was Richard Thomson and his paternal grandmother is Florence Cromlan; his maternal grandfather was William Colle and his maternal grandmother is Agnes Bryant. He had two brothers and four sisters, named John, Samuel, Ann, Priscilla, Ann and Mary.  He was the oldest of the seven children.  He died in Berwick, York, Maine.  He was buried before June 30th, 1708.1 1
