Wilburn was born on January 21st, 1811 in Thaxton,Warren Co.,Tennessee. Wilburn's father was John Thomas Thaxton and his mother is Rachel Brooks. His paternal grandparents were Abel Thackston and Lucy Davis. He had a brother and five sisters, named John, Hiley, Nancy, Lucinda, Cynthia Caroline and Martha. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Martin, Thomas and Rachael. He died at the age of 76 on February 17th, 1887 in Thaxton, Warren, Tn.-
