Henry Speck was born on February 13th, 1834 in North Carolina. Henry Speck's father was Jordan Reese Thaxton and his mother was Sarah "Sallie" Green. His paternal grandparents were George Thaxton and Sarah Bailey. He had five brothers and a sister, named ???, Benjamin A., George Donald, Thomas C., Samuel A. and Cornelia A.. He was the third youngest of the seven children. He died at the age of 85 on October 1st, 1919 in Caswell Co.,North Carolina.-
