James Jones and John Taylour 1000 A. situated between Wicomico Riverbranches and the branches of Corotoman River in Lancaster Co: land beingformerly granted to John Hughlett, and by sd Hughlett sold to ThomasGaskins, May 28, 1658, and by the sd Gaskins assigned over to James Jonesand John Taylour Oct. 24, 1659, granted by William Berkley, June 22, 1664.
James Jones deeds all patents, rights, etc., to land (described above) toJohn Taylour Nov. 16, 1668.

Thomas Gaskins deeds 200 A. to James Jones & John Taylor - land patentedin Northampton Co. This deed was made in the year 1662.
John Taylor of Wicomico died in Northumberland Co. in the year 1702. Hiswife alice died the same year.

On motion of Alice and John Taylor, they are made executors of will ofJohn Taylor deceased. John Howson, a wt. April 15, 1702.
Oct. 25, 1702. Mrs. Mary Everett, dau. of Alice Taylor, deceased, latewidow of John Taylor deceased brings suit vs. John Taylor to getsomething from her mother's estate.
The late Mrs. Keach, of Wichita, Kansas, is authority for the statementthat the maiden name of Alice Taylor, wife of John Taylor, wasAliceGascogne or Gaskins, daughter of Thomas Gascogne.
From preceding and following records we shall see that John and AliceTaylor had sons John, Thomas and Lazarus, and daughters Mrs. EdmondBaysey (Basye) and Mrs. Mary Everett. They probably had other daughters.
*A search of Northampton Co. records brought out the fact that JamesJones and others were transported into this county March 23, 1640.
John Taylor received a grant of land in Northampton Co. April 28, 1651.In the same year his name appears in Northampton Co. among thosepromising to be true to the King.
Dec. 1, 1659, James Jones deeds two tracts of land, one 300 A., the other250 A., to Thomas Leathorby, the latter tract having formerly belonged toJames Jones, John Ellis and John Taylor, the latter two having assignedover their rights to James Jones, Northampton Co.
John Taylor, of Northampton Co., deeds 250 A. to John Parremore, landlying upon south side of Occahannock creek, it being half of a Divident,granted by patent unto John Ellis, James Jones and ye sd John Taylor,Sept. 30, 1654.
Again recorded April 20, 1658.

Note--Occahannock Creek is in extreme northern part of county, formingboundary lline between Northampton and Accomac counties.
The above deed is also recorded at Accomac, Accomac Co., April 28, 1658,the original deed having been made Sept. 30, 1654.
In connection with a business transaction with James Jones, March 1,1657, John Taylor makes deposition that he is thirty (30) years of age.
One William Taylor owned large tracts of land on Occahannock Creek; landlying in both counties, Northampton and Accomac.
His will, probated in Accomac Co., June 21, 1687, names sons William andElias and two daughters. The writer failed to find any proof ofrelationship between William and John Taylor.
In April number, 1927, reference is made to one John Taylor, whose estateis settled in Lancaster Co., Oct. 2, 1654, and who is again referred toin 1667, and whose widow, Elizabeth, married Tobias Horton (see Aprilnumber, 1927).
