Elizabeth's father was Samuel Taylor and her mother is Susanna UPSHAW.  Her paternal grandfather is John Taylor; her maternal grandfather was William Upshaw and her maternal grandmother is Tamazen STRESHLEY. She had a brother and eight sisters, named Sthreshley, Mary, Lucinda, Lucy, Polly, Sally, Sarah B. Sally, Tamason and Betsy.
