Solomia was born about 1792 in , Rockingham, Virginia.  Solomia's father is Mathew Tate and her mother is Elizabeth UNKNOWN. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Joshua, Rodeham, James, Lucy, Nancy and Elsey.  She is the second youngest of the seven children.
