James Clinton THAXTON 
James Clinton was born on December 7th, 1846 in Independence, Jackson, Mo. James Clinton's father was Robert Carroll Thaxton and his mother was Louisa Bradley RUTHERFORD. His paternal grandparents were Thomas THAXTON and Sarah Boyd Barnett; his maternal grandparents were Benjamin RUTHERFORD and Jane MARSHALL. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Thomas Benjamin, William August, Robert Calvin, Joseph Rufus, John Barnett, Henderson Wise, Sarah Jane, Margaret Elizabeth and Mary Louisa. He was the second oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 72 in 1918.General Notes
