Joseph was born on November 2nd, 1818 in NC.  Joseph's father was Richard TENPENNY and his mother was Barbara SCHUMAN.  His paternal grandfather is Daniel TENPENNY; his maternal grandfather was Christian SCHUMAN and his maternal grandmother is Schuman Wife Of UNK. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Mumford, DANIEL, Sarah (Sally) and KATHERINE.  He died in Cannon, TN.  He was buried in Tenpenny Cem. ,, TN.
