Millie Avis was born on October 3rd, 1884 in Guilford, NC. Millie Avis' father was John Abner STARR and her mother was Malinda NEESE. Her paternal grandparents were Joshua STARR and Caroline Rebecca PHIPPS; her maternal grandparents were James Alvin NEESE and Katherine UNKNOWN. She had three brothers and seven sisters, named Clayton Worth, John Luthur, Robert Lee, Daisy, Bessie E., Sarah Nina, Mary Lillian, Lacy Monroe, Katie Cecil and Norma Gertrude. She was the fourth oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 94 on December 4th, 1978 in Guilford, NC.General Notes
