DILLARD was born about 1777 in Albemarle, Virginia. DILLARD's father was STEPHEN Sandidge and his mother was SARAH OR Sallie Henderson. His paternal grandparents are WILLIAM Sandidge and ELIZABETH Graves. He had six brothers and a sister, named John, Reuben, WILLIAM, Joshua, Nathan, George and Lucy. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He died after 1860 in Albemarle, Virginia.
‌DILLARD and HANNAH were married in a religious ceremony on October 14th, 1797 in Albemarle, Virginia. They had five sons and two daughters, named Stephen G., John T., Nicholas, Nathan H., Joel Maupin, JUDITH "Judy" and SARAH JANE.
