Martha Jane was born on June 22nd, 1867. Martha Jane's father was Henry Clay Sandidge and her mother was Sarah Rebecca Epperson. Her maternal grandparents were Stephen T. Epperson and Elizabeth (Polly) Wolfe. She had seven brothers and two sisters, named John Cord, Walker George, Peter W., William H., Samuel H., David R., Robert S., Fannie Kate and Laura L..
