Jesse was born on February 21st, 1792 in Orangeburg District, SC. Jesse's father was W. Henry SNELLGROVE and his mother was Sarah Dukes. His paternal grandfather was Freeman SNELLGROVE; his maternal grandparents were Joseph Duke and Margaret Hazelwood. He was an only child. He died at the age of 84 on July 23rd, 1876 in Hawridge, AL.-
