Jonathan was born on August 20th, 1736 in Duxbury, Plymouth, Massachusetts and his baptism took place on October 10th, 1736 in Little Compton, Newport, Rhode Island. Jonathan's father was Joseph SIMMONS and his mother was Rebecca WOOD. He had five brothers and five sisters, named John, Edward, Lod, Ephraim, Joseph, Abigail, Betty, Abigail, Susanna and Rebecca.
