Thomas was born in 1666 in Of Freckenham, Suffolk, , Eng. Thomas' father was John Sr. SHINN SHEEN and his mother was Jane SHINN. His paternal grandfather was Clement SHINN (SHIN) and his paternal grandmother is Sarah Grace SHEENE. He had five brothers and five sisters, named John, Francis, James, George, John Jr., Sarah, Esther, Mary, Martha (Owen) and Mary. He was the fourth oldest of the eleven children.
