His paternal grandfather was Jacob SCHMIDT and his paternal grandmother is Sabina KATARINA. He had a brother and six sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named John, Gertrude S., Katarina, Sabina, Anna, Magdeline (Margaret), Marie Barbara and Child.
