Hrollangr was born in 0867 in Maer,Norway.  Hrollangr's father was Eystein Ivarsson Glumra Jarl of the Uplands and his mother was Ascrida (Aseda) ROGNVALDSDATTER COUNTESS OF OPPLAND.  His paternal grandparents are Ivar Oplaendinge HALFDANSSON and UNKNOWN EYSTEINSDATTER; his maternal grandfather was Rognvald OLAFSSON and his maternal grandmother is Thora Sigurdsdatter. He had eight brothers and a sister, named Rognvald I "The Wise", Sigurd I "the Mighty", MALAHULE HALDRICK, Malahule (Haldrick) (Malahulc) (Tresney), Ragnvald I Eysteinsson the Wise of, Turstan, Robert (Rollo) Duke of, Thorir Rognvaldsson Earl Of and Svanhild.  He is the third youngest of the ten children.
