Nest Verch was born about 1338 in Of Cibwr, Senghennydd, Glamorgan, Wales. Nest Verch's father is Rhun Ap GRONWY. Her paternal grandparents are Gronwy "Fychan" Ap GRONWY and Catrin Verch MADOG. She has three brothers and four sisters, named Madog Ap, Gwilym Ap, Llywelyn Ap, Joan Verch, Miss Verch, Mallt Verch and Miss Verch. She is the third youngest of the eight children.
