Martha was born on February 16th, 1766 in Of Campbeltown, Argyll, Scotland. Martha's father was Alexander PICKEN and her mother was Jean WATSON. Her paternal grandparents are Mr. PICKEN and Mrs. PICKEN; her maternal grandparents are William WATSON and Agnes MITCHELL. She had three brothers and four sisters, named William, John, Alexander, Anne, Ann, Jean (Jane) and Ann. She is the third oldest of the eight children.General Notes
