Barbara Persinger was born in 1731 in Augusta, , Augusta Co., Va..  Barbara Persinger's father was Jacob PENCE and her mother was Catherine Mary Pence.  Her paternal grandfather is Jacob PENCE. She had six brothers and a sister, named Henry, Adam, Jacob, George, William, John and Catharine Rebecca.  She is the fourth youngest of the eight children.
