Joseph was born on August 21st, 1670 in Middletown, Middlesex, Ma and his baptism took place on August 21st, 1670 in , Middletown, Middlesex, Ct. Joseph's father was Thomas MILLER and his mother was Sarah NETTLETON. His paternal grandparents were John MILLER and Mary PYLSTON; his maternal grandparents were Samuel NETTLETON and Maria Mary NETTLETON. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, Samuell(Samuel), Benjamin, John, Margaret, Sarah and Mehitable (Mehittabel). He was the third oldest of the eight children.
