John was born in 1550 in Ashford, Kent, England.  John's father was Richard MASTERSON and his mother was Joane BECHYOG. He had three brothers and eight sisters, named Edmund, John, Edmund, Margaret, Margaret, Joane, Joane, Elizabeth, Elizabeth, Mildred and Mildred.  He was the third youngest of the twelve children.  He died in Prob. Ashford, Kent, England.
