Thomas was born on June 15th, 1833 in Wolverhampton, Stffrdshr, Engl. Thomas' father was Benjamin LLOYD and his mother was Mary ELLIDGE. His paternal grandparents were Thomas LLOYD and Elizabeth MASON; his maternal grandparents were William ILLIDGE and Susanna MRS. ILLIDGE. He had two brothers and eight sisters, named Emma Lucas, Elizabeth, Mary, Susannah, Harriet, Emma, Ann Lucas, Elizabeth, Mary Ann and Fannie. He was the third youngest of the eleven children.
