George was born on November 20th, 1754 in ATTLEBORO, BRISTOL, MASSACHUSETTS. George's father was EBENEZER LANE and his mother was BETHIAH SHAW. His paternal grandfather was Samuel LANE and his paternal grandmother is Bethia LORING; his maternal grandparents are Peter SHAW and BETHIAH LOVET. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Oliver, David, EBENEZER, Nathan, Daniel, BERTHIA, BETSY, KEZIAH and LUCY or LUCIA. He is the second youngest of the ten children.-
