Charles Henry KING 
Charles Henry was born on March 12th, 1853 in Bradford, , PA. Charles Henry's father was Lynch Rudolph KING and his mother was Rebecca Jane Shepherd. His paternal grandparents were Josiah King and Nancy Lynch; his maternal grandparents are Thomas Shepherd and Rachel Arnold. He had a brother and five sisters, named Bascomb, Jane, Claud, Catherine, Bessie and Grace. He was the oldest of the seven children. BIOGRAPHY: Charles Henry King was instrumental in establishing the town of Riverton, Wyoming in 1906.
He was a mover and shaker in establishing many towns in Wyoming. He was among the first to set up mercantile stores at Ft. Fetterman, Douglas, Glenrock, Casper, Shoshoni, and Riverton from the mid 1880's to 1906. He also had banks, lumber companies, and string teams to haul freight to the Arapahoe and Shoshone tribes at Ft. Washkai and Arapahoe in addition to the towns. It was reported that the main office was in Omaha, Nebraska. (information from Leniegh Schrinar, volunteer at Riverton Museum Research Center.) There is also evidence of him being in the Territory of Utah in 1893 from land records in Weber County, Utah Territory (from Gerald R. Ford library). 1
