Thomas was born on April 30th, 1820 in , Lfytt Co., Mo, United States. Thomas' father was John KILLIAN and his mother was Lydia Ann HOPPER. His paternal grandfather was Phillip KILLIAN and his paternal grandmother is M. HOCKING HOCKINGS. He had three brothers and three sisters, named George, Franklin, Jacob, Nancy, Letha Jane and Almira Josephine. He was the second oldest of the seven children.
